The Woods pool will be closed all day on Thursday, August 27 due to tree work in the area surrounding the pool parking lot. The work is being completed by Woodland Tree Service. The pool will be open on Friday, August 28.

Amber Arthur
Brief background (including time as a Woods resident):
I have lived in The Woods for 10 years now, with my husband and our four boys ages 13, 11, 9, and 5 (and a half—as he says). I have served as the secretary for The Woods for the last 2 years. I grew up in Collierville and always loved driving through our neighborhood as a kid. I would love to help keep our neighborhood welcoming and enjoyable for all the residents.
Why do you want to serve on the board?
I would like to continue to be a member of the board to serve our neighbors and to continue to make our neighborhood welcoming for all. It is important to me that everyone can enjoy living here as much as we have enjoyed it the past 10 years. Creating a sense of community that ties our families together will only make The Woods a more special place.
How do you feel about covenant enforcement?
I believe that it would be beneficial for our covenants and bylaws to be condensed into one document that is more user friendly than what we currently have available. As new families move into The Woods (and for all of those already here), it is important that these documents are easy to understand and acquire. It is important that the documents reflect the current wants and needs of our ever-changing neighborhood and residents, with clear and concise procedures for covenant enforcement and meeting procedures.
What is your vision for the Woods as a neighborhood?
I hope that through more service to our community, we can foster stronger relationships between neighbors and carry on traditions that make The Woods a wonderful place to live. Through these relationships, we can continue these traditions and create new ones that bring even more life into The Woods.
What do you think is the most significant challenge facing The Woods?
I think our largest challenge is division. Although I think that we mostly all want the same things for our neighborhood, there are different ways to accomplish those goals and this is where we are struggling. Conversations that are respectful and allow both time to listen and opportunities to be heard need to occur so that we can move forward and create a more united community.
Todd Blankenbeckler
My name is Todd Blankenbeckler, and I am running for a position on our HOA Board this year. Many of you may have seen me working on the large ornamental garden in my front yard, especially in the evenings. My partner and I have lived in The Woods for nearly 10 years, having moved here from Midtown Memphis, and we truly love the peaceful atmosphere of our neighborhood. I have been an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Technology at Southwest Tennessee Community College for the past 29 years.
I am eager to serve on the board to address several key areas for our community:
Common Green Spaces and Landscaping
I want to ensure our contracted landscaping company meets our expectations. For instance, the new shrub at the entry sign blocks the line of sight for exiting traffic and violates Collierville ordinances. We also need to address dead shrubs by choosing drought-tolerant plants and actively caring for our aging, mature oak trees. While we update our covenants to protect our tree canopy, I will advocate for a balanced approach that respects homeowners' rights and protects our collective aesthetic.
Covenant Consolidation and Enforcement
Our HOA covenants are currently spread across multiple documents. I propose reviewing, updating, and consolidating them into a single document available on our website. Drawing from my professional experience managing large documentation projects for college accreditation, I am well-equipped to help lead this effort. Once updated, covenant enforcement should be handled with care, compassion, and consistency, with the process clearly outlined in our bylaws.
Structured and Respectful Meetings
To prevent the chaos experienced at our recent annual meeting, I want to establish clear operational guidelines. Implementing basic elements of Robert's Rules of Order will ensure that future meetings remain civil and structured, allowing every resident to be heard and respected.
As a neighborhood, we are transitioning as a new generation of families moves in. This brings a shift in ideas and priorities, making it more critical than ever to collaborate, revise our covenants, and reach a consensus on the future we want for The Woods.

Josh Burnette
My wife, Savannah, and I have lived in The Woods since 2022 with our three children, Lark, Piper, and Judd. I grew up on a farm in Fayette County and am grateful to now call The Woods home. Professionally, I’m a civil engineer and developer. My work includes designing neighborhoods, working with municipalities, developing neighborhood covenants and bylaws, and guiding projects from concept through construction. I also serve on the Collierville 2050 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and regularly assist the Town with drainage and infrastructure issues.
Through my work, I’ve learned that the best neighborhoods aren’t defined simply by streets, houses, or landscaping. They’re defined by the people who live there. I have a great deal of respect for the traditions and character that have made The Woods special, and I’d like to help preserve those while strengthening the connections between neighbors and generations. The approach is simple: listen well, communicate openly, treat people with respect, and work together to keep The Woods a neighborhood we’re proud to call home.
Michael Hutchinson
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, I have proudly called The Woods home since July 2021. My life and career in higher education have taken me throughout the Southeast with stops in Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, and, since 2012, Tennessee. I am married to my wife, Crystal, and together we have four children ages 13, 11, 9, and 4.
For the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving as Treasurer of The Woods HOA. During that time, I have worked to strengthen the Association's financial position and promote responsible stewardship of our community's resources. I am seeking one additional term on the Board to help ensure The Woods continues on a path toward long-term financial stability and sustainability.
Looking ahead, I believe our community should focus on maintaining strong financial reserves, preserving property values, and ensuring our governing documents are applied fairly and consistently. Our covenants are essential to protecting the character and quality of our neighborhood. As we move forward, I believe the Board should evaluate opportunities to strengthen our governing documents by providing clear, consistent enforcement provisions that offer tangible consequences which are currently lacking in our covenants as currently written.
It has been an honor to serve our neighborhood and I would appreciate the opportunity to continue working on behalf of the residents of The Woods.
Rebecca Jones
About Me:
- Resident of The Woods since 2024
- Mom of three amazing kiddos Kellan (16), Bennett (12) and Eliza (10)
- 20 years of experience working in the cardiac device industry; currently serving as the Remote Education Coordinator at Arrhythmia Technologies Institute, providing in-person and online electrophysiology education to allied health professionals and providers.
My Current Role on the HOA Board:
I have served on the board for the last two years. After being elected to the board, I created a new HOA website to serve as a digital "bulletin board" for our neighborhood. This website provides information on important HOA updates and events, HOA points of contact, rules about our common areas, access to the HOA covenants and online requests for tree removal approval.
My Vision for The Woods:
My wishes for our neighborhood are likely similar to others - well-maintained homes, yards and common spaces; protection and care for the trees that make this neighborhood "The Woods;" fun activities for a wide variety of homeowners; and neighbors who are kind, respectful and helpful to one another. Those wishes, along with a commitment to fostering a spirit of unity in our neighborhood, providing respectful and timely communication, and an approach that kindly takes all homeowners and the future of the neighborhood into consideration, drive my decisions as a member of the HOA board.

I've lived in The Woods for a little over five years. It's been such an amazing neighborhood, and I'm grateful to call it home.
Why do you want to serve on the board?
I've served on the board for two years and would love to continue for one more so we can carry forward the ideas and projects we've started. I currently help lead social events, including organizing food trucks and our monthly Bunco night.
What is your vision for the Woods as a neighborhood?
As a local realtor, I know firsthand that The Woods has an outstanding reputation as a great place to live and raise a family. My vision is to keep building on that foundation and ensure our neighborhood maintains the reputation it's earned over the years.
How do you feel about covenant enforcement?
Our covenants need to be rewritten so there's clarity around what's actually enforceable, removing confusion for everyone.
What do you think is the most significant challenge facing The Woods?
Division. I believe we all want the same thing, but it's easy to lose sight of that when emotions run high over specific issues. I want to bring us together toward a common goal, because in the end, we all want the same thing: a safe, fun neighborhood to call home.
Kevin Stallings
My name is Kevin Stallings. My family and I moved to The Woods in 2022 after purchasing and renovating the home my grandparents built in 1983, where I was fortunate to grow up.
Now I live here with my wife and our two young children. I want every family to enjoy this neighborhood as much as I did and am committed to helping keep The Woods a safe, welcoming place for everyone.
